The iPad 3 release is just weeks away, are you ready?
It looks like the March 7th release date for the iPad 3 is holding firm for now. With that rumor has come several rumors and leaks about potential iPad 3 parts. The first big leak to occur was the potential back plate for the newest iPad. It included several small differences but overall left us wanting for more information about the potential specs and features of the new iPad. The next and probably biggest leak was an investigation done by MacRumors confirming the Retina Display for the iPad 3. By purchasing a replacement part and then looking at it under a microscope they were able to determine that it was in fact a high resolution display. This was the biggest source of question related to the potential i Pad 3 release and seems to have been confirmed at this point.
The newest leak to hit the internet comes from China and the website Weiphone. A user by the name of sas126 has uploaded what is reported to be the logic board to be used inside the iPad 3. This is where the processor and other chips are placed and essentially the brains of the newest iPad. The rumor was that the iPad 3 would include a new A6 processor which would be quad-core. According to the leaked photos this however does not appear to be true. The leaked image shows a previously unreleased A5X chip. This of course is theoretically an incremental upgrade to the current A5 chip that is used in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. There are currently no reports as to what the specs of the A5X chip could be.
We are just two weeks away from the expected launch date for the newest iPad from Apple. As we get closer to the release we will of course bring you all the news and rumors that come out.
